including lighting, image acquisition, image processing, image analysis,
process control and softwareprogramming to replace human vision in a
variety of industrial situations. Machine Vision is increasingly used to
automate processes in a variety of industrial situations such as
component inspection and robot guidance.
These systems can be used for component inspection,
positioning and laboratory work.

Processing Laboratory is engaged in research on various aspects of
design, development and application of machine / robot vision systems.
Active areas of research include three dimensional depth estimation using
focus information, object shape recognition, industrial inspection
systems and 3D rendering mechanisms.
